Designed by Joubert-Nivelt and built by META Shipyard, this 1998 META Dalu 40 is a Strongall aluminum ketch designed for offshore cruising and long-distance passagemaking. Originally launched in 2001, the vessel underwent an extensive refit between 2018 and 2021, with updates focused on structural integrity, reliability, and offshore capability.

The hull below the waterline was professionally refurbished in 2022 with an epoxy coating and antifouling system. Standing rigging was replaced in 2023, and the sail inventory includes a fully battened mainsail, mizzen, genoa, staysail, and storm jib. The boat is also equipped with a windlass, substantial ground tackle, a watermaker, solar and wind generation, generous fuel and freshwater capacity, and a practical workshop with a large inventory of tools and spare parts.
